Amy Schumer Says John Cena Was ‘Actually Inside Her’ During Extreme Scene

Amy Schumer said John Cena was ‘actually inside her’ during an extreme scene they filmed for a movie.

Schumer, portraying a commitment-phobic party girl named Amy, starred alongside Cena in the 2015 romantic comedy Trainwreck.

Her character is reluctant to embrace monogamy but finds herself entangled in a series of relationships, including one with Cena’s character, Steven, a devoted gym enthusiast.

Their on-screen romance led to a particularly memorable and racy scene, which the two stars have since discussed on multiple occasions.

Schumer previously shared her astonishment at Cena’s physique, saying (per the Daily Star): “It’s a whole universe, that butt… It’s not even human. It felt like having a refrigerator on top of me.”

Jokingly, she added: “I think it was probably harder for him. He had to, like, do something. I just did what I usually do when I have s**. Just lay there.”

The comedian also shared one significant regret from the experience: “You know what? I didn’t get to feel his balls. It’s a major regret of mine. Major regret.”

On the other hand, Cena described filming the scene as ‘awkward.’

In a 2015 interview with Conan, the professional wrestler admitted: “It was awkward. And they wanted awkward, so we gave them awkward.”

During an appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast, Cena elaborated on the challenges of shooting the scene.

He recalled how the production team informed him he would be performing an exaggerated comedic s** sequence instead of delivering lines.

“Amy is an angel, she made the environment so comfortable, and then when I got the part, eventually they were like, ‘Yeah, it’s a s** scene. We want you to do elaborate and crazy stunt s**, and all those lines you had? We’re probably not going to use them, we’re just going to do this stunt s** scene,” Cena said.

Despite having experience performing in front of crowds due to his wrestling background, Cena admitted that acting in a s** scene was an entirely different challenge.

The actor explained: “This is the thing – right now, you guys at home think it’s just us. No, there’s a whole f***ing world back here.”

He described the environment on set: “This is like a great production. But dude, man, catering was right there, and the sound tent was right there.

“There are so many people you need to make a movie. There is nothing intimate about it. Nothing.

“So it’s real embarrassing, and on top of that, to do a comedic s** scene when you’re making fun of yourself— they were literally like, ‘Try to have the most awkward s** you possibly can.’”

He added: “And with an audience watching that, it’s different. I don’t want to say it sucks. It’s just different than you all think it is.”

Following the podcast, Schumer playfully responded via her Instagram Stories, posting a video of herself in bed with a caption that read: “John, how dare you.”

She jokingly added: “That s** scene meant a lot to me, and I was, like, very into it. And I’m in love with you.”

Cena also revealed he was hesitant to tell his then-partner, WWE star Nikki Bella, about the scene beforehand.

“Honestly I didn’t think I’d get the part,” he said during his Conan appearance.

“I kept putting it off not telling Nicole and not having the discussion of, ‘Hey there may be some graphic scenes.’

“So I got it and I couldn’t say no, so I kind of walked in one day and was like, ‘Hey, I’m kind of just doing this.’ And that was the wrong approach.”

He recalled: “She has such beautiful brown eyes and they glowed with red hellfire.

“She has such a great smile but she turned into like the alien and the predator at once.”

Schumer, too, has shared some BTS secrets about the scene.

When asked during an Australian talk show how she managed to keep a straight face while filming the s** scene, Schumer quipped: “Because he was actually inside me. Who am I to stop him?”

Though clearly a joke, her comment added to the humor surrounding their onscreen dynamic.

Co-star Bill Hader, present during the discussion, chimed in, adding: “Wrestlers, they’re not faking. When they’re wrestlers they don’t fake!”

To which Schumer humorously responded: “It’s real.”
